Jon's originally from near Leeds in Yorkshire. In the past he's opened for people like Seth Lakeman, Lau, Tom McConville and Vin Garbutt. But he's not a "folky". He's a contemporary singer/songwriter. As such he's opened a few times for Mel Blatt of the "All Saints" and appeared on the same bill as Newton Faulkner in London, during a four year spell in the City.
The idea for a solo album came from Steve Rusby (Kate's dad). The icing on the cake was when Kathryn Tickell, Tom McConville and Chris Sherburn (Bella Hardy - concertina), said they would help.
Jon now lives just outside Manchester and usually plays with Kate Moran, a terrific young fiddle player. The title track of the album -"Lost in this beautiful World", will be released as a single early this summer
